Bexley North Public School P&C

Bexley North Public School enjoys a rich and proud history and is well-regarded in the local community for supporting the growth and wellbeing of our students and supporting local families.

The area where Bexley North Public School now stands was originally a small part of an immense sweep of land owned by James Chandler, a free settler from Bexley, Kent, who arrived in New South Wales in 1820. When the Department of Education took over the running of Bexley Boy’s Home School, Bexley North Public School was known as Kingsland Primary School. It opened on 7 November 1924 with 93 students, the first Principal being Mr William Thomas. After only five years, the name of the school was changed to Kingsland Road Public School. Bexley North Public School was officially renamed in April 1943. The two-storey main brick building was officially opened on 20 September 1952. The foundation stone was laid on 25 March 1950.

To celebrate this momentous occasion the P&C in conjunction with the School are organising a community celebration on the school grounds on Sunday 20 October 2024. More information will be available as the planning continues but we’d love to see you there!!
